It is an Amazing experience doing Business Analytics unit with Victoria University. Mr Paul Hawking has designed this unit in a simple way to understand the various concepts of such as reporting, dashboards and visualization. Analytics is an emerging technology using by all the organisations to analyse the data.
Analytics helps in problem solving, Analytics helps in identifying issues, Analytics helps in decision making, Analytics helps in understanding transactions and many more...!
There are various steps in handling data from pre-processing to evaluation that constitutes to transform the data from different sources with different types.
Visualizations is one of the comprehensive platform to visualize the data in any forms. Comparatively, visualization has better understanding towards data and also helpful to compare, filter, and analyse the data with live visual experience. SAP Lumira is the one of the data visualization tool that has most significant functionalities with range of options to explore data and enables users to compose and narrate a story in a creative way.
As part of our exploratory research towards Indigenous people, we refined various resources like blog, videos, database sites etc. Finally, we found a interesting topic to analyse the mental behavior towards health of Indigenous people. For that, we started collecting data from Australia Bureau statistics, Australian Health department websites.
According to 2011 statistics, We want to show up the population size of Indigenous and Non-Indigenous people in Australia with various comparisons from region and percentage of indigenous share. From the below visual we come to know that only 3% of population is shared by Indigenous people .This populates the size of impact on the behaviors of smaller community. Essentially, we need to understand the Life expectancy and Birth rate difference between smaller community and residual people .
Then we continued with range of diseases that caused death of people in the year 2008 and 2013 that decreases disease rate by 3% by year which is nominal.
In addition we organised mental behaviors of the people by monitoring health attendance 2012-13 that shows up the increase in interest levels increasing by 5%.
Then we took some survey related data to understand the impression of Indigenous people towards Hospitals and Doctors with respect to region .Surprisingly both regions( Remote,Non-remote) people have a similar positive response towards health interests.
Eventually, we observed nearly 5% increase in positive behavior that proportionally decrease disease rate by 3% per year. This may give us strong evidence to initiate better health programs that may lead to better health conditions in Indigenous people.
