At the world’s largest fair for industrial technology SAP and Partners were showing their latest innovations
A smart factory for the digital age, a connected product lifecycle and Big Data Analytics in Manufacturing - those were only some of the highlights at this year’s SAP booth at Hannover Messe in Hall 7. On top of the real-world showcases, deep dive expert sessions featured various aspects of the Internet of Things, whereas the demo pods at the SAP and Partner booth demonstrated the freshly launched Asset Intelligence Network and Predictive Maintenance and Services capabilities, as well as future scenarios for example Predictive Quality.
Connected Manufacturing: Smart Factory for the digital Age
A keyring with a built-in smart chip and custom-designed shell was manufactured right at the SAP booth. The special feature of this showcase was that, instead of following the conventional model for enterprise integration, all processes were connected in a decentralized way—from the customer order
to quality control, and from the production line to enterprise systems. This enables rapid and highly efficient job production.
SAP Asset Intelligence Network
SAP launched its SAP Asset Intelligence Network (AIN), a novel business network that helps manufacturers, service providers, and equipment operators to exchange data with one another through a single cloud-based platform. This network is based on SAP HANA Cloud Platform.
