With software provisioning manager, get latest SAPinst version that enables provisioning processes for several products and releases for all supported platforms – get support of latest products, versions and platforms, including latest fixes in tool and supported processes + benefit from unified process for different product versions.

Changes with SL Toolset SPS 16

General:

• 7.0x/7.x: Software Provisioning Manager supports Microsoft Windows Active Directory Organizational Units (OU) on all supported Microsoft Windows versions – for more information, see SAP Note 2247673
• 7.0x/7.x: Processes from Software Provisioning Manager 7.0x and 7.x support SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise databases with full database encryption (for example, during installation or system copy)

System installation:

• 7.x: Option for archive-based installation of SAP Web Dispatcher and of Diagnostics in SAP Solution Manager, where downloaded archives instead of Kernel media are used
• 7.x: For ABAP installations planned in Maintenance Planner and executed with a stack XML file, the installation procedure now automatically deploys prerequisite SAP Notes for SUM
• 7.x: Now, also Java installations (based on SAP NetWeaver 7.31 and higher, no dual-stack systems) can be planned in Maintenance Planner and executed with a stack XML file UDI for Java
• 7.0x/7.x: No in-system installation of Diagnostics in SAP Solution Manager anymore – instead, use the standalone option in the product catalog, if required

System copy:

• 7.x: Option to prepare database for Database Migration Option of Software Update Manager for a combined update and database migration – option additionally provided for target databases SAP ASE
• 7.0x/7.x: Improved heterogeneous ABAP system copy (option to perform export ordered by package size, time analyzer results or name + option to define a special package unload order) now available for all DBs
• 7.0x/7.x: Improved Java instanceID and box number handling during Java system copy

System rename:

• 7.x: Procedure now includes option to install a new license for distributed systems, if renamed without change of the SAP system ID

Standalone Task Manager for Lifecycle Management Automation 1.0 SP 01

AddOn Installation Tool and Support Package Manager

Offering

SPAM/SAINT provides easy access to lifecycle management processes by being part of the SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP stack and by being accessible directly via SAP GUI.  This way you are able to control different kinds of implementation processes, such as installing, upgrading or updating ABAP software components. SPAM/SAINT Updates themselves can be applied to ABAP-based systems independent of underlying SAP NetWeaver component versions.

Scenario "Up-to-date Installation"

Up-To-Date Installation refers to an enhanced process for the installation of new system at any chosen stack level. The new improved process enables complete planning in Maintenance Planner, which generates a consolidated stack XML and archives, which are later consumed by Software Provisioning Manager and Software Update Manager.
