Hello SCN Members,
During the course of many SAP ERP implementation projects, I have often found to my disappointment that companies do not leverage SAP Sales & Operation Planning (S&OP) functionality extensively enough to reap greater return from their SAP ERP implementation. The reluctance to put SAP S&OP to better use either come from not knowing enough about the materials planning tools that SAP S&OP offer, or simply unwillingness to change their current practices of ineffective and inefficient materials planning.
When I was authoring my first SAP PRESS book “Production Planning and Control with SAP ERP”, I requested my editor and my technical adviser to allow me the freedom to accord sufficient and in-depth coverage to the SAP S&OP topic. Fortunately, they agreed and we were able to put together a 93-pages of practical and actionable insight. Now, SAP PRESS has turned the S&OP topic in an E-Bite (E-Book), and it covers just about all the topics that were covered in the original SAP PP book.
Here are the topics that the SAP S&OP E-Bite covers:
- Standard Sales and Operations Planning
- Flexible Planning
- Maintaining Version Management
- Forecasting
- Rough-Cut Planning Profile
- Events
- Mass Processing in S&OP
I hope that by reading this short and focused E-Bite of 90+ pages will enable you to realize the true business benefits of implementing and integrating SAP S&OP in your logistics and supply chain processes.

As always, I welcome your thoughts and views on this topic.
